'Life with horses'. The launch of our inaugural photography competition.

At Equestrienne Magazine one of our main intentions is to showcase the talent and tenacity of equestrian photographers. Being a less results-focused equestrian magazine means we devote more time to savouring the everyday pleasures, enjoying in the equestrian lifestyle and indulging our equine passion. With this in mind, choosing the theme for our inaugural photography competition was obvious - 'Life with horses’.

There are so many amazing equestrian photographers in Australia and we hope this will be a way to connect as a community. The driving ethos at Equestrienne Magazine is to showcase and support women in the equestrian industry and this is just another way for us to do that.

The competition is open to women in Australia. Both amateur and professional photographers are welcome. It is free to enter. We are currently displaying a gallery of entrants images on our website with a voting system in place to determine a ‘People’s Choice’ winner - so make sure you vote for your favourites! 18 finalists will have their image/s printed in the next issue of the magazine (on sale November 2023). The winner will then be announced on December 15th.

We are fortunate to have some amazing sponsors backing this initiative - Lisa Alexander Photography. Sara Keast Leather. Cowgirls Gathering. Hair Test Lab. Rebel Morrow. Kennallywood Stud. Black Colt Clothing. Tanja Kraus Horsemanship. Together we have pooled over $1000 in cash and prizes. The winner of the contest will receive $500 cash and a feature in the magazine.

I saw a post the other day which said 'Look at the banners around the arena next time you compete. Support those businesses, because without them, there are no competitions.' Please head over to our sponsors socials and give them a follow if you don't already.

Submissions close 11/11/2023 so there's still time to get your entries in! We accept up to 5 images per entrant but can only accept one entry per day, per person so keep this in mind!
